Motor Fuel Group (MFG) is the UK's largest independent forecourt operator. The company has over 900 stations operating across the United Kingdom. MFG's stations operate under the well-recognized brand names such as BP, Esso, Shell, JET and Murco fuel brands. Providing competitive and convenient shopping experience for thousands of consumers on a daily basis.
The client approached us with the request to design a sales reporting and information distribution system that would also allow system administrators to assign tasks and send personalized messages to the specific users. As MFG has thousands of daily operations, it needed a comprehensive solution that would allow over 900 of its sites to simultaneously add their reports manually or automatically if the site complies to specific criteria. The client also needed the system to support Optical Character Recognition functionality for bank payments which the sites deposit as proof of payment.
Flat Rock Technology created the daily reporting system "Orange" that has all the features requested by the client. To meet the huge demand for system resources and database capacity, we built the scalable cloud solution, which can adjust itself based on system load. For the successful development implementation, our team used a combination of Azure Application services, Azure Functions, Azure Elastic Pool, Azure Application Gateway, Azure blob storage, Azure Service Fabric, Azure Key Vault, Azure Cache For Redis, Azure Service Bus, Azure SignalR, Azure Load Balancer and other MS Azure services. With the right Web UI/UX we ensured that the system is easy for navigation and everyday users by the system administrator and other system users.
Today all MFG sites in the United Kingdom are using the Orange daily report system that allows users to input information about daily sales easily and effortlessly, create reports and distribute them through the system.
