2020 was an unprecedented year that turned the whole world upside down and changed the way we all live. It was full of challenges nobody could have predicted. Undoubtedly 2020 was a challenge for Flat Rock as well. We had to change the way we work, cancel all business travels and start working from home.
However, thanks to our team members and their dedication and our client's trust in us, we managed to keep business as usual and get the achievements, recognitions and new milestones along the way. Here are some of the most exciting events and moments that made 2020 less bad for us!
Flat Rock Technology expanded in the Netherlands
2020 started with one of the biggest and the most exciting events of the year. We expanded our presence and opened a new sales office in Amsterdam, Netherlands! The interest in our services from the West European clients in recent years encouraged us to establish the new sales office in Amsterdam and be closer to our clients to serve them better.
We achieved three new Microsoft Gold Competencies!
At Flat Rock, we are dedicated to excellence and are always eager to advance our skills, knowledge and offer leading-edge solutions. With this mindset, we achieved three new Microsoft Gold Competencies in 2020!

- Microsoft Gold Data Analytics Competency
- Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform Competency
In April we secured Microsoft Gold Data Analytics competency as we demonstrated our capabilities in assisting our clients to access their data and gain insights to make data-driven business decisions.
In the same month, we had the opportunity to advance our Microsoft Silver Cloud Platform Competency (that we achieved in 2019) to the gold one! We earned Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform Competency after a series of technical assessments that proved that Flat Rock meets Microsoft's strict performance criteria in offering cloud services to the clients.
Last but not least, we earned Microsoft Gold Data Platform Competency in November, proving our ability to always be on top of technological advancements and meet the evolving needs of our international clients.
Clutch named Flat Rock as a top custom software development in the UK
The next great news and recognition came from the US-based B2B review and rating firm Clutch. The firm named Flat Rock Technology as one of the top custom software development company in the United Kingdom in its Leaders Matrix. Clutch also named Flat Rock as a top custom software developer in London and as one of the top .NET custom software development companies in the United Kingdom!
The Clutch Leaders Matrix lists niche, emerging, proven and market-leading companies that have a proven success record and strong feedback from its clientele. During the selection process, Clutch uses its unique methodology, quantitative and qualitative criteria, as well as interviews from clients to evaluate each company.
Being recognized by Clutch as an emerging/niche custom software development company once again shows our expertise to deliver valuable and complex solutions to our clients.
We earned the Cyber Security Essentials certification
At the end of the year, we added Cybersecurity Essentials certification to our long list of credentials. It demonstrates that we have a clear understanding of our organization's cybersecurity level and ensure the security of our IT systems against the cyber-attacks. To earn the certification, we demonstrated that we have implemented controls to mitigate risks and took the essential precautions against the cybersecurity threats.
We recruited more than 90 new employees!
In 2020 we had to switch from working from the office to working from home. But despite the pandemic and a new working style we did not stop recruitment. As a result, more than 90 new brilliant team members joined our offices in Varna, Tbilisi, and Amsterdam! Together we are ready to take on the new challenges and reach the new highs!
We are ready for 2021!
For many, including Flat Rock this year has been full of challenges, but it was also full of new achievements and inspiring moments. At the end of 2020, we got closer to what we are striving for and are starting 2021 with more expertise, more experience and more professionals in our team!
